Assessment of a novel geothermal powered polygeneration system with zero liquid discharge

Energy, exergy, economic, exergoenvironmental, and environmental analyses are reported for a novel polygeneration system consisting of geothermal cycle, CO2 reverse osmosis unit, an electrodialysis lithium bromide absorption chiller, liquefaction unit natural gas. The proposed is able to produce electricity, cooling, desalinated water, sodium hydroxide, hydrogen. To study the aspects facility, associated social cost air pollution determined. This parameter implies comparison between nonrenewable renewable energy systems same amount while pollutants generated their costs considered. Three scenarios introduced. results indicate that produces 631 GWh/year electrical energy, 465 6.22 ‎ton/year NaClO, 1.57 × 108 m3/year hydrogen, 386,000 potable water working fluid supplied with mass flow rate 100 kg/s at temperature 150°C pressure 457.5 kPa. Also, calculated values exergy efficiencies 58.3% 94.2%, respectively. payback period determined be 5.3 years. net present value ‎is found ‎113.6 million US$ which lower than all nonrenewable-based
